A few weeks ago I went and explored the Dublin Zoo. The zoo is based in the Phoenix Park which is actually twice the size of Central Park in New York. The Zoo is gorgeous with lots of space and is sharing their various initiatives for conservation and education. The Zoo was opened in 1831 and has since adapted with the times. Check out some of my pictures below!!

The Zoo has this Kaziranga Forest Trail that leads visitors past the Elephant enclosures. They have at least 10 elephants to my count - four of which were young. The Bull - or male - elephant of the herd has a separate area but does interact with the whole group.

The giraffes were elegant and shared their habitat with the ostriches. Visitors walked up a ramp around the side of the enclosure. The Zoo has about nine giraffes that I could see.

The Orangutans were super playful with two constantly swinging from these ropes and hitting each other. The one seemed to almost be teasing the other and pulling on his hair.
The Zoo was wonderful and the air in Ireland is so fresh that any day spent walking around outside is a great one! This zoo was one of the better ones I've been to in my life and the fact that they had signs by each animals enclosure with information about the species and what the zoo is doing specifically to help that species.
